May & Belle

I found a fabulous facebook business page a couple of months ago and fell in love! I`m a sucker for prints and sayings.  They design and create elegant, unique and stylish WALL ART PRINT. I recently received my first print from May and Belle.

You need to go to her site because My pictures don`t do the prints justice. (http://www.facebook.com/mayandbelle?sk=wall)

I couldn`t flip it for some reason, but it says `how sweet it is to be loved by you`

The first time I saw this I immediately wanted it for my bedroom. I wanted to put up wedding pictures of me and my husband, but wanted to make a special spot for us. I have these beautiful gold frames that we got for our wedding. I also had this long black frame with wedding pictures in it that has been sitting in storage for half a year. The black didn`t look right, so I dug up my red paint and got to work!

After the paint dried I laid all of my pictures on the floor and rearranged for half an hour before deciding on placement.

This is what it looks like on my wall!

I decided I need to pay more attention to this space. We were sleeping on a mattress on the floor for five months before getting a bed frame (our old one broke). We bought a nice king bed, night stand, curtains, still need to get the dresser….but I told my husband, while laughing a bit, that I now feel a little more like a grown up! And now pictures are hung! I can`t wait for my husband to see it.

Now all I need is a long skinny frame, like the one I painted red, to go along under all the frames. That way  when you first look at it, it will look like a red letter `L`. I will save that for next week!

Sneak Peak of our Photo shoot ~ Nov.27

I had a product shoot with Claudine Lavoie Photographgy on November 27th. I had been looking forward to this day for months.

It was an amazing day! First off, this was my first time in Claudine’s studio. It is a very nice space. Full of windows and openess. My favorite thing was the exposed brick wall under the row of windows. I brought my camera there in hopes of getting some “behind the scenes” pictures of the kids getting ready and Claudine doing her thing, but it all went so fast I never even pulled it out of my bag.

Before this I had different ideas in my head on what to expect from the kids, I already knew Claudine would be great. There were 7 girls under the age of 7. The youngest being 4 months old! There was my 2 daughters, Claudine’s daughter and my 4 nieces.  They were all exceptional…the odd cry now and then< most coming from my 21 month old daughter!   I knew it could have went one of two ways, they all have a blast and its a joyful shoot, or they are all miserable and I would be pulling my hair out. Thankfully it was the first. The girls were all very well behaved.

Claudine hired a beautiful young ballerina to be in the pictures. She was wonderful. With her was her mom and dance teacher. They were all very nice. Miss ballerina had brought with her 3 of the most beautiful ballet dresses/tutus I have seen. She did her proper poses while all the little ones admired her. I know my 4 year old and some of the other girls were so excited to meet a REAL ballerina!  (I was too;)

I haven’t seen all of the pictures yet, but Claudine was super quick on a couple of them. And here they are!!!

If you Love Claudine’s work as much as I do you can go to her facebook page and show her some love by liking her page! ~Claudine Lavoie Photography~

Lets support a Terry in her journey to bring us a fabulous book that moms and dads will find helpful. A lot of books out there are a little dated when it comes to information that we could use about raising our children. So much has changed even from when I had my first daughter, almost 5 years ago. This book will be full of great information from moms of every generation and background…working moms, stay at home moms, single moms…

Go to her page now and comment on some of her questions if you have some great advice. You could be a part of her book!
